START HERE
Step 1:Set up the stand — push the included foot into the slot on the back (center, near the bottom). It goes in one way for landscape, the other for portrait. To wall-mount instead, use one of the two screw holes on the back (one per orientation).
Step 2:Plug the power cord into the port on the edge of the frame (look sideways — hard to spot on black frames) and into a wall outlet. The screen turns on automatically.
Step 3 (on the frame):If the frame asks to update software, tap "Download and Install" and wait a few minutes. If no update appears, continue to the next step.
Step 4 (on the frame):Select your language.
Step 5 (on the frame):Connect to WiFi — tap your network name, then type the password on the on-screen keyboard. May require 2.4GHz WiFi (not 5GHz) depending on your model. This is the most common issue. If you're having trouble, see Common Issues → WiFi Won't Connect.
Step 6 (on the frame):Select your time zone. The date and time should already be set — just pick your zone. Choose 12-hour or 24-hour format (default is 12-hour). Tap the right arrow at the bottom to continue.
Step 7 (on the frame):If prompted to download firmware, tap "Download and Install" again and wait.
Step 8 (on the frame):Choose "Setup as new" (not "Restore from backup" — that's only if you've had this frame before).
Step 9 (on the frame):Enter your name and where the frame will be (e.g., "Mom's Kitchen"). Tap the green checkmark to finish.

❓ Common Questions
Based on the OFFICIAL FRAMEO USER MANUAL and common customer questions. This guide may contain errors — always refer to the official manual for complete information. If you need to come back to this guide, re-scan the Owlxplain QR code on the back of the frame.
Cost & Subscription
Do I need a subscription? No. The frame works fully without paying anything. Receiving photos, slideshows, sleep schedule, and microSD card backup are all free.
What does Frameo+ add?$1.99/month or $16.99/year (pricing may vary — check the Frameo app for current rates). Send up to 100 photos at once (instead of 10), longer videos, cloud backup, and remote management. Optional — the frame works fully without it.
What's the 10-photo limit?Without a subscription, the sender can send 10 photos at a time from the Frameo app on their phone. Just send multiple batches — there's no limit on total photos. Or use a microSD card to load hundreds at once.
Storage & Photos
How many photos can it hold?Thousands. With 16–32GB of storage, a 32GB model holds roughly 40,000–80,000 phone photos. You'll likely never run out of space.
Does USB work with Mac?No. USB transfer only works from Windows and Linux. Mac users can use the Frameo phone app or a microSD card instead. See Common Issues → Loading Photos from Computer for details.
WiFi & Connectivity
Does it work without WiFi?Yes. Once photos are loaded, the slideshow runs offline. WiFi is only needed to receive new photos.
Why 2.4GHz only? The frame's WiFi chip only supports 2.4GHz. Most routers broadcast both — connect the frame to the 2.4GHz one. See Care & Info → WiFi Problems for details.
Family & Sharing
Can multiple people send photos?Yes, unlimited. Each person downloads the free Frameo app on their phone, gets a friend code from the frame, and they're connected. You can remove someone later in Settings → My Friends .
Can family see what's on my frame? Not without a Frameo+ subscription. Without it, people can send photos but can't see or manage what's on your frame.
Setup & Daily Use
Is it easy to set up?Most people have it running in 5–10 minutes. Plug in, pick a language, connect WiFi, share a code with the people who'll send photos — done. See Quick Start Guide for full steps.
Will I lose photos in a power outage? No. Photos are stored in internal memory and survive power outages. The only thing that resets is the clock, which fixes itself when WiFi reconnects.
How long can videos be?Up to 15 seconds with the free version. Frameo+ allows longer videos. Videos play with sound during the slideshow — see Quick Reference → Videos & Sound for how to mute.
Does the person receiving the frame need an account? No. No account, no login, no password. The frame just works once it's connected to WiFi.
Can I delete photos someone sent me?Yes. Swipe to the photo, tap the screen, then tap the Delete icon . The sender will not be notified.
How do I change the slideshow speed?Tap the screen → Settings → Slideshow → Timer. Default is 10 seconds per photo.
🛡️ Care & Info
Based on the OFFICIAL FRAMEO USER MANUAL. This guide may contain errors — always refer to the official manual for complete information. If you need to come back to this guide, re-scan the Owlxplain QR code on the back of the frame.
Troubleshooting
Won't turn on:Check the power outlet works (try plugging in a lamp). Try a different cord. Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in. Press and hold the power button on the back (near center) for 10 seconds.
Frozen screen:Press and hold the power button on the back (near center) until the frame turns off. Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in.
Hard reset (last resort):Find the tiny reset hole on the back. Push a toothpick or paperclip in and hold for 5 seconds. WARNING This deletes all photos and settings.
WiFi keeps disconnecting:Restart the frame. Confirm you're on 2.4GHz. If it drops weekly, the WiFi chip may be faulty — contact the seller. See WiFi Problems below for more.
Photos not arriving:Check WiFi is connected (look for the WiFi icon in the top bar). Ask the sender to check if the frame shows as "online" in their Frameo app.
Screen flickers:Lower brightness: tap the screen → Settings → Display. If flickering persists, contact the seller for replacement.
Touch not responding:Peel off any screen protector. If the top of the screen is dead, try rotating the frame upside-down to reach menus. Contact the seller.
Clock/time wrong:The frame has no internal battery. After a power outage, the clock resets. Reconnect to WiFi to auto-set the time, or set it manually: tap the screen → Settings → Date & Time.
"Don't unplug" warning:This means: use the on-screen power button to shut down instead of pulling the cord. If you lose power in a storm, your photos are safe. You may need to reset the clock.
Dead after months of use?Likely a hardware failure. Contact the seller through your Amazon order for warranty replacement.
WiFi Problems
Can't find network:Must be 2.4GHz (not 5GHz), must not be hidden, must use WPA2 (not WPA3).
Wrong password:Tap the eye icon next to the password field on the frame's screen to show the password as you type. WiFi passwords are case-sensitive.
Router combines 2.4 & 5GHz:Ask a family member or call your internet provider and say: "I need a separate 2.4GHz network name for a smart device." Connect the frame to that name.
Connected but no internet:Restart both: unplug the router for 30 seconds, plug it back in and wait 2 minutes. Then unplug the frame for 30 seconds and plug it back in.
Drops WiFi every few days:This is a known issue. Restarting the frame usually fixes it temporarily. If it happens constantly, the WiFi chip may need warranty replacement.
Backup & Storage
Backup to microSD card:Tap the screen → Settings → Backup → Backup to external storage. Insert a microSD card (FAT32, max 32GB).
Auto backup:With a microSD card inserted, the frame can back up automatically within 30 hours of any changes.
Import from microSD card:Insert a microSD card into the slot on the back of the frame → the frame will prompt you to import. The fastest way to load lots of photos at once.
What is FAT32?A format for memory cards. Most microSD cards up to 32GB are already FAT32. Cards larger than 32GB need reformatting.
