Artie Manual provides AI-powered guides for consumer devices. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and your rights.
The short version: We collect very little. No account, no cookies, no tracking. Your chat messages are processed by a third-party AI service (Anthropic) and are not stored on our servers. We do not sell or share your data for advertising.
Chat messages — When you ask Artie a question, your message is sent to our server and then to Anthropic (our AI provider) to generate a response. We do not store your messages after the response is delivered. Anthropic may retain messages for up to 30 days for safety monitoring. Your messages are not used to train AI models.
Common questions and answers — We save frequently asked questions and their answers so we can respond faster in the future. These are stored as general text with no personal identifiers attached.
Abuse prevention data — To protect the service from misuse, we collect general information about your device and browser, and assign a temporary session identifier. This data cannot identify you personally, is not shared with anyone, and is automatically deleted after 30 days.
Server logs — Our hosting provider (DigitalOcean) automatically records IP addresses in server access logs as part of standard web hosting.
Artie is an AI assistant, not a human. Artie is powered by Anthropic's Claude AI. Responses may contain errors — for safety-critical information, always consult your official product manual.
When you send a message, it may be processed by Anthropic's servers in the United States. Anthropic may retain your message for up to 30 days for safety purposes, but does not use API messages to train its models. For more details, see Anthropic's privacy policy.
We do not use any analytics services, advertising networks, or other third-party tracking tools.
Our servers are located in the United States. If you are located outside the US (including the United Kingdom, Canada, or the European Economic Area), your data is transferred to and processed in the United States.
Our service providers (Anthropic and DigitalOcean) maintain appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required. We remain responsible for the protection of your data even when processed by our service providers.
Data stored on US servers may be accessible to US courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities under applicable US laws.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Since we do not collect identifying information (no accounts, no email), most data cannot be linked to a specific individual. To make a request, please contact us with enough detail for us to locate the relevant data (for example, the approximate date and questions you asked).
